Assessing the Status of Citizenship Elements in Gaza from the Perspective of Law and International Relations

The Gaza Strip, as one of the most sensitive geopolitical regions in the world, has become a hotbed of widespread violations of civil rights in recent decades. This article aims to examine the status of civil rights in Gaza based on the framework of international law, analyzing various aspects of human rights violations and the obligations of governments and international organizations. This qualitative research uses the Document Analysis method, which is one of the common methods in legal research, to examine legal texts, international documents, and authoritative human rights reports. This article first defines the concepts of civil rights and the fundamental principles of international law, and then briefly reviews the history of the Gaza Strip over the past 100 years. Using authoritative documents and reports, it examines the challenges related to civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights in Gaza. It also evaluates the violations committed by the Zionist regime as the occupying power and the responsibility of international institutions for this situation. The next step is to align the occupation situation in the Gaza Strip with human rights treaties. The final section focuses on assessing the performance of governments and international institutions. The findings of this research show that despite the existence of international law mechanisms, the civil rights of the people of Gaza are systematically violated, and this requires serious action by the international community. The blockade of Gaza has severely restricted access to basic goods and humanitarian services and has led to the destruction of vital infrastructure. These are examples of the impact of hostilities on the civilian population.
